Using ChildPlus resources, learn the best options for tracking PIR related data and how your agency’s setup impacts calculations. Included in each section is guidance to establish data entry procedures and a reporting schedule to use for years to come.

PIR Coaching is a six‐month online course that provides an in-depth look at the Head Start Program Information Report (PIR) and how ChildPlus accurately calculates data for the PIR.

During this self-guided course, explore the instructions and questions on the official 2024-2025 PIR form. Using ChildPlus resources, learn the best options for tracking PIR related data and how your agency’s setup impacts calculations. Included in each section is guidance to establish data entry procedures and a reporting schedule to use for years to come.

All course work including material downloads must be completed by Tuesday, September 2, 2025:

  • Locate fields used to collect data
  • Identify PIR terms, definitions and questions
  • Set up the PIR in a ChildPlus database
  • Create a PIR reporting schedule
  • Apply ChildPlus resources to troubleshoot the PIR
  • Export PIR data from a ChildPlus database into the HSES system
  • Establish PIR program goals

Month 3 – Section C – Child and Family Services

  • Evaluate data entry procedures for health, education and disability data
  • Discuss and analyze the use of reports for PIR questions, Section C

Month 4 – Section B&D
