Family Services Certification

The Family Services module in ChildPlus is designed to streamline the many exchanges that occur between the program and the families. Our Family Services Certification provides an in-depth review of the Family Services module. You will learn how to document goals, schedule and maintain timely follow-up and track services related to family engagement outcomes.

FAMILY SERVICES CERTIFICATION OVERVIEW


In each individual course, content is presented in video format and supported through additional written materials which can include worksheets, activities, assignments, Head Start resources and reports in ChildPlus.

All units in the Family Services Certification are released at the course start date. For Certification, the course order is below. All access to the units in the Family Services Online Program end six months after enrollment.

FAMILY SERVICES SETUP

  • Recognize the Events tracked in the Family Services Module
  • Practice using the Utility for Updating Existing Family Service Events
  • Demonstrate the process for creating the Outcome Instrument
  • Define your agency’s need and use for customizing dropdown choices

FAMILY SERVICES DATA ENTRY

  • Record contacts with the family
  • Employ referrals and other follow-up services provided
  • Review strengths and needs using a family assessment tool
  • llustrate how to quickly send notices to families via text or email
  • Utilize notices using the Communication Log
  • Collect and score data in the Family Outcomes Instrument

MONITOR FAMILY SERVICES

  • Compare gains for families throughout the year
  • Critique family services events and evaluate statuses

FAMILY OUTCOMES

  • Determine family strengths and needs related to family engagement outcomes
  • Develop informed goals and strategies
  • Use data to improve service delivery for sites or for the entire program

SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT

For any one of the courses, complete all the requirements and pass the quizzes and/or exams and you will receive a written Subject Matter Expert verification. All requirements must be met within the specified time frame.

CERTIFICATION

For certification, an individual must take all five units in the Family Services Online Program.*

A certificate is issued upon completion of all requirements including passing quizzes/exams or the completion of a final project. All requirements must be met within the specified time frame.
