In each individual course, content is presented in video format and supported through additional written materials which can include worksheets, activities, assignments, Head Start resources and reports in ChildPlus.

All courses in the ERSEA Online Program are released at the course start date. There is no required order to complete the courses but the recommended order is:

  • Eligibility
  • Recruitment
  • Application
  • Enrollment
  • Selection
  • Attendance

The following courses are included in the ERSEA Online Program:

 

Eligibility

  • Identify the areas in ChildPlus that impact the components of eligibility
  • Examine the definitions of family
  • Determine the areas of program setup that influence eligibility
  • Review the nuances of eligibility sets
  • Recognize the items that fall outside the norm and develop a strategy for implementation
  • l Discover reports to aide with eligibility

Recruitment

  • Distinguish reports identifying families
  • Locate Community Resources to support families and apply details for easier selection
  • Critique the agency recruitment planning and appraise the effectiveness of the entire cycle

Application

  • Recall all forms of applications in ChildPlus Desktop and ChildPlus Online
  • Point out the different uses and features in each
  • Evaluate application statuses for follow-up and completion

Enrollment

  • Diagram the enrollment definitions and how they are used at your agency
  • Consider the variations of classroom placement
  • Analyze the multiple scenarios of enrollment changes
  • Pinpoint tools in ChildPlus to assist with quick and efficient data entry

Selection

  • Explain the value of reports for the agency selection procedures
  • Demonstrate Entry Express for optimal data entry
  • Prepare classrooms to contain the appropriate participants
  • Evaluate agency systems for returning participants

Attendance

  • Describe the attendance options and benefits of each in ChildPlus
  • Show reports to monitor and track attendance
  • Employ tools to investigate the lesser-known areas of attendance concerns
  • By taking the course(s) that support your position, you can better serve your agency
  • Demonstrate self-discipline and personal career growth development
  • Master skills in ChildPlus
  • Learn new ideas for implementation of ChildPlus
For any one of the above courses, complete all the requirements and pass the quizzes and/or exams and you will receive a written Subject Matter Expert verification. All requirements must be met within the specified time frame.
A certificate is issued upon completion of all requirements including passing quizzes/exams or the completion of a final project. All requirements must be met within the specified time frame.

Eligibility – $1,500

Recruitment – $1,800

Price of Certification (all six courses)* – $8,000 (A savings of $900)

*Certification requires the same individual take all six courses

Family Services – Level I

Level I builds a foundation for utilizing and understanding the intent of the module and its features.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn the intended use of the Family Services module
  • Understand how actions function in the Family Services module
  • Examine the Family Outcomes section
  • Recognize PIR fields and associated responses for Family Services questions
  • Determine which reports to utilize for items in the Family Services module
  • Content Manager/Supervisor
  • ChildPlus Administrator
  • One 60-minute web-based class per week with instruction
  • One 30-minute lab per week with discussion and activities to reinforce instruction
